A little of Chantelle Rose by Cristina Hodgson

Welcome to another blog tour, and the first in a while since my break over here on this blog; what a different but surely good book I have to bring to you today as well. ‘A Little of Chantelle Rose’ is certainly a very different book to what I normally read, but I was pleasantly surprised with how much of a light hearted joyful read this actually was for me. Thank you to Cristina Hodgson and Jennifer from Neverland Blog Tours for sending me the kindle version of this book for review. thumbnail_BookCover

At the age of twenty-four, Chantelle Rose has all a city girl can expect: a tiny bed-sit in South London, a lousy poorly-paid job, a tyrannical boss, and quite a few exes added to an ever-growing list.

Desperate for change, she becomes an extra in a seedy crime film. When that leads to the opportunity of a lifetime – a role to play with a million dollars to win and seemingly nothing to lose – she accepts without thinking twice. After all, what could possibly go wrong? In any event, she´ll earn enough to buy her dream home, set up her own business and never worry about money again.

And what about love? Two men have won her heart: Robbie – sultry, silent, mysterious; and Lionel – Hollywood heart-throb, charm, wealth, adventure.

But who can she trust? Who is bent on scaring her away, and why?

There seems to be more at stake than just her heart. Will a million dollars be worth it? (From Goodreads)

For several months now I have been in a horrible reading slump that I just haven’t seemed capable of dragging myself out of, but for the first time in a very long time I actually finished an entire book in under a week!!

I cant say that this is the sort of book which I would reread, but I can definitely say that if you need a good little light hearted, comical fun book to read in order to escape from the stress and hardships of reality, then ‘A Little of Chantelle Rose’ is the book for you. Full of relatable characters, situations and thought processes this will have you laughing and having a sigh of relief that you are not the only one who experiences being stopped at the airport, freaking at noises in your house, and overthinking new relationships. If only we could say the same for being given the opportunity to earn so much money so easily.

Despite the menacing side to her, I could not help but feel a love for Vivien in her heart wrenching situation- another that I’m sure many can appreciate; wanting a best friend like Tammy, with the spare money, happy to pack up and go away at a beckon call.

‘A Little of Chantelle Rose’ is an easy 3 out of 5 star read, but trust me it will have you laughing away, and spearing on the relatable characters. If you too have been experiencing the horrors of a reading slump then do not delay at going to pick up this cute comical read. Even if its not normally your genre of book, this is just overly enjoyable for all.
